At the 29th International ALS/MND Symposium in Glasgow, Scotland, Dr. Smith presented on "The Computer Assessment of Speech in a Successful ALS Treatment Trial". The abstract is can be found here.

October 2-4, 2018 – Annual NEALS Meeting

Dr. Richard Smith gave a platform presentation entitled "Computer Assessment of Speech in a Successful ALS Treatment Trial" at the 2018 annual Northeast ALS Consortium (NEALS) meeting in Clearwater Beach, Florida. Subsequently, Dr. Eric Macklin, a collaborator from Harvard University, presented a poster discussing the short-form version of the CNS-BFS, a patient reported outcome for assessing bulbar function in ALS developed by the Center for Neurologic Study. Both of these presentations supplemented work recently published in the following journals: Neurotherapeutics, European Journal of Neurology, and recently, the Journal of Clinical Pharmacology. These studies were initially supported by the ALS award granted by the ALS Association, granted to Dr. Smith.
